MISSION STATEMENT

The Louisiana Acupuncture Alliance is a nonpartisan, independent coalition committed to advancing, protecting, and strengthening the practice of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) throughout the state of Louisiana. We serve as a unified voice for licensed acupuncturists and as a trusted advocate for the patients and communities who rely on safe, effective, and evidence-informed integrative care.

Our mission is to safeguard the professional integrity of acupuncture practice while ensuring that regulatory standards remain clear, equitable, and aligned with public safety and clinical excellence. We believe that strong licensure, clearly defined scope protections, and well-defined statutory and regulatory frameworks are essential to maintaining high standards of care and preserving the distinct training and expertise of licensed acupuncturists.

The Alliance works to elevate awareness of acupuncture’s clinical value in addressing pain management, musculoskeletal conditions, stress-related disorders, women’s health concerns, and a wide range of chronic and preventative care needs. We advocate for responsible integration within the broader healthcare system while preserving the diagnostic frameworks and therapeutic principles that define Traditional Chinese Medicine and East Asian medical systems.

Through strategic legislative engagement, professional collaboration, and public outreach, we monitor and respond to policy developments that impact practitioners and patients across Louisiana. We engage constructively with lawmakers, regulatory bodies, healthcare institutions, and allied professionals to ensure that decisions affecting acupuncture are informed, balanced, and centered on patient outcomes.
